Gratin Dauphinois
Ingredients
800g (2 lb) floury or waxy potatoes
200 ml (7 fl oz) soya cream
200 ml (7 fl oz) soya milk
2-3 cloves garlic, chopped or crushed
3tbsp vegetable margarine
Freshly grated nutmeg
Salt and pepper
Instructions
1)Wash potatoes (peel if you like) and slice thinly.
2)Put layers of potato slices in an ovenproof dish, sprinkling garlic, salt and pepper and small bits of margarine on top of each layer.
3)Mix soya milk and soya cream together and pour over the potatoes.
4) Cook for about 45 minutes at 200ºC/400ºF until potatoes are cooked and brown on top.
