Poppy Seed Rolls
Oven Temperature: 220ºC/435ºF/Gas 7
Cooking Time: 35 minutes
Quantity: About 18
1.5 kg (3 lbs) strong white flour
6tsp dried yeast (2 sachets)
50g (2 oz) soya margarine
600ml hand hot water
300ml (1/2 pint) soya milk
1) Put flour, salt, and yeast in a bowl. Rub margarine into flour.
2) Mix milk and water and pour over flour.
3) Knead the dough on a floured board for 10 minutes until stretchy.
4)Divide into balls and arrange on a greased baking sheet so that rolls are all touching each other in a big circle.
5)Brush tops with soya milk and sprinkle poppy seeds over the top.
6)Leave in a warm place to rise for about 30 minutes. You can cover with a slightly damp tea towel.
7)Cook for about 35 minutes at 220ºC/435ºF until cooked and golden brown. Cool on wire cooling rack.
